JohnTom’s at Artisan Market Place ​​Very successful weekend at the Indiana Artisan Marketplace in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Many request for us to sell JohnTom’s BBQ sauce at stores in their city.

Starlight Gala JohnTom’s Fifth Anniversary

Where: Rose Court in downtown Muncie

JohnTom’s Barbecue marked its 5th Anniversary by inviting the community to its Starlight Gala at Rose Court in downtown Muncie. The event was held as a fundraiser, in which all of the proceeds were donated to a local charity.

Taste of Muncie

When: April 19, 2010
Where: Cornerstone Center of the Arts,Muncie, Indiana

JohnTom’s Barbecue joined 17 other vendors at the 24th annual Taste of Muncie. Approximately 450 people worked their way around the room, sampling everything from bbq sauce to homemade ice cream.

JohnTom’s First Shipment

When: July 1, 2008
Where: Tone Products, Melrose Park, Illinois

In 2008, JohnTom’s Barbecue transitioned from bottling its own sauce in a kitchen incubator to contract bottling with Tone Products in Chicago. Anytime owners needed sauce, they rented a utility truck, drove to Chicago, picked up their load, drove back to Indiana, unload the sauce and returned the truck to its rightful owner.

JohnTom’s Taste Sampler

JohnTom’s acquired an office above Vogue Cleaners on North Wheeling Avenue in Muncie in the fall of 2006. The company celebrated by inviting the community to an open house, where they sampled the sauce, many of them for the first time.

Family & Friends Day at Chalkies

JohntTom’s Barbecue celebrated the success of its sauce with Family and Friends Day at Chalkies Billiards, which was also the first restaurant account for JohnTom’s. Guests enjoyed great conversation, billiards, food and music. JohnTom’s even gave away door prizes to some lucky winners.

Indiana Black Expo

When: June 2006
Where: Convention Center, Indianapolis, Indiana

Only a few weeks after JohnTom’s was officially established as a company, the owners introduced their sauce to the world at Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration. The idea was to let people taste it and collect honest feedback. By the end of the week, the sauce’s demand was so high, customers bought every bottle of JohnTom’s Barbecue Sauce, proving the company had a very marketable product.

JohnTom’s 1st Manufacturing Facility

When: Spring 2006
Where: Venture Out Business Center, Madison, Indiana

JohnTom’s Barbecue Sauce was firs manufactured in Spring 2006 at Venture Out Business Center in Madison, Indiana. The business incubator featured a state-of-the-art kitchen, where JohnTom’s owners learned how to prepare, cook and bottle their own product. JohnTom’s eventually outgrew the incubator and graduated to a co-packing facility.
