Lathay Pegues

President & CEO


Lathay Pegues was born and raised in Muncie, IN, where he graduated from Central High School, before attending Indiana University. He earned a degree in Journalism, using his talents to work as a television news anchor and reporter in Quincy, IL and Milwaukee, WI. Lathay is currently Chief Videographer and Online Video Reporter for The Star Press in Muncie. Lathay started developing the formula for JohnTom’s Barbecue Sauce in 1998, mastering the recipes in 2003. In 2006, Lathay, along with business partners Terrell Cooper and Rodney Robinson, founded JohnTom’s Barbecue, LLC.


Terrell Cooper

VP, Marketing


Terrell Cooper was born and raised in Muncie, IN, where he graduated from Central High School. Terrell went on to graduate from Indiana University, and has since developed a successful Advertising career. While working for several top tier advertising agencies, Terrell committed himself to becoming a JohnTom’s partner and quickly created the logo and branding materials for the company.


Rodney Robinson

VP, Business Operations


Rodney Robinson was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, where he graduated from North Central High School, before graduating from Indiana University. Rodney earned a degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) from the Kelley School of Business. Rodney hit the ground running in the world of Information Technology in 1998, and has excelled in multiple positions, including System Administration, Delivery Consultant, Pre-sales Solutions Architect and Sales Brand Representative. After hearing the story of JohnTom’s and tasting the sauce, Rodney was onboard to become a partner, helping to found JohnTom’s Barbecue, LLC in 2006.
